Q: I can't connect to my FTP site using Internet Explorer or my FTP Program. What's wrong?

A: You must enable PASV mode, to allow Internet Explorer to pass through our firewall...

PASV mode is a technical setting on Internet Explorer, that for some really strange reason is set to "off" by default,
instead of "on". You need to turn this "on", in your ftp program, or in Internet Explorer, depending on what program
you are using to connect to your website.

How to change Internet Explorer to use PASV mode:
- Open internet explorer
- Select "tools" -> options, from the menu
- Select the "advanced" tab
- Scroll down until you see a checkbox item called "Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)
- Make sure this checkbox is "checked" (i.e. has a tick in the checkbox)
- Another feature you may want to enable, to make using Internet Explorer easier, is make sure "Enable folder view for FTP sites", is checked.
- Close Internet explorer, and any other Internet explorer window you have open.
- re-open Internet explorer, and type in ftp://ftp.mydomain.co.za. If you are still battling to connect to ftp.yourdomain.co.za, then try connecting to the IP address of our cluster, currently 213.171.193.241
